Paste Type

Unknown Variety 2023 – “Long Pink Pear” is a paste-type tomato, containing less water than “regular” tomatoes, perfect for cocking and sauces, etc. Produces elongated, pear-shaped fruits with a small nipple, around 60-80 grams each. Pale-pink fruits with some pale-green coloring on the necks. Meaty flesh with a sweet tomato flavor. The seeds of this variety were given to me as ‘Sinister Minister’, and clearly it is not. The unknown variety was a great variety though, so we decided to keep it! 75-80D. Indeterminate. 10seeds/pack

White Icicle, 'Sosulka Belaya', produces oval-elongated paste-type tomatoes, around 80 grams each. Ivory-white fruits with a sweet tomato flavor. Firm, meaty fruits with few seeds. Crack-resistant and keeps well after picking. This is described as an indeterminate, vining variety of tomato. Although all my plants grew to about 150cm and gave heavy yields all ripened during the same 10-day period. Perfect if you want to harvest all simultaneously for sauces or cooking. I did not prune at all, but staking or support is needed. 75-80D. 10seeds/pack

Wick’s Orange Paste produces oval-elongated paste-type tomatoes, around 50-80grams each. Pale-orange fruits with a sweet tomato flavor. Firm, meaty fruits with few seeds. Crack-resistant and keeps well after picking. This is an indeterminate, vining variety of tomato growing to about 200cm in height and spreads some width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned and the choice of staking and support. Was first offered in the “Seed Savers 2008 Yearbook” by Al Anderson, Troy, Ohio. He got the seeds from Tom Wick, Covington, Oregon. 75-80D. 10seeds/pack

Yellow Banana is a bush variety growing up to 60-90cm in height. Produces elongated, bright yellow paste-type tomatoes around 7cm long. Very firm fruits with few seeds, looking like little bananas. Sweet tomato flavor, not too juicy. Paste-type tomatoes contain less water than "normal" tomatoes and are perfect for tomato sauce, puree, cooking, etc. The fruits are very firm and meaty and not so watery if cooked. Zolotoy Potok, "Golden Stream", is a compact bush variety growing up to 50-70cm in height. Produces elongated, bright yellow paste-type tomatoes around 50-70 grams each. Very firm fruits with few seeds. Sweet tomato flavor, not too juicy. Paste-type tomatoes contain less water than "normal" tomatoes and are perfect for tomato sauce, puree, cooking, etc. The fruits are very firm and meaty and not so watery if cooked.
