Alida Tobacco is an old variety of tobacco that was grown in Sweden by Alida Olsson, also know as "Old Ma' Alida", in Yngsjö outside Åhus in south of Sweden. Old Ma' Alida was a famous Swedish tobacco farmer in the 1960's. She harvested her last plants in 1964. Seeds from these plants was then kept at the Swedish Tobaks & Tändstickmuseet, "Tobacco & Match Museum" in Stockholm. The seeds we grow today, derive from those seeds.
