Alida Tobacco

Alida Tobacco is an old variety of tobacco that was grown in Sweden by Alida Olsson, also know as "Old Ma' Alida", in Yngsjö outside Åhus in south of Sweden. Old Ma' Alida was a famous Swedish tobacco farmer in the 1960's. She harvested her last plants in 1964. Seeds from these plants was then kept at the Swedish Tobaks & Tändstickmuseet, "Tobacco & Match Museum" in Stockholm. The seeds we grow today, derive from those seeds. The plant grow to about 140-180cm in height. Produces large oval-elongated, green leaves. Flowers with clusters of pink flowers. Can be used for cigars, Swedish "snus" or as an ornamental plant. How to Grow

Sow indoors before planting in the garden. The seeds are tiny and requires light to germinate. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil. Do not let the seedlings dry out.
