Chioggia produces red beets with white-red-striped flesh. Round roots with sweet flesh. Strong foliage, green with red-pink nerves. Can be stored for a longer time. From Italy. Beta vulgaris var. conditiva. 60D. 150seeds/pack
Sow the seeds about 2cm deep directly in the garden. Sow the seeds thinly. Can be a bit troublesome when beetroot-seeds want the right combination of oxygen, moisture and heat. If too cold and wet the seeds can rot. If too dry or too dense soil, the seeds will germinate poorly or not at all. Beetroots for storage should be sown a bit later in the season.
