Longkeeper

Crispiana, “Crispiano Giallorosso”, is a longkeeper variety from the town of Crispiano in southern Italy. Produces round, golden fruits with a pink-red blush of around 20-50 grams each, never looking completely ripe. Pleasant, acidic tomato flavor. Thick skin and firm flesh, crack-resistant. Good shelf life, and keeps very well after harvest. In Italian, this is a “pomodori da serbo”, a tomato for storage. Indeterminate. 70-75D. 10seeds/pack

d’Arbúcies, ‘de tomàquet de penjar d’Arbúcies’, is a Spanish “hanging tomato” – longkeeper tomato from Catalonia, Spain. “Penjar” is “to hang” in Catalan. Its named after the village of Arbúcies in Girona and was reported by Pere Pasqual. Produces orange-red fruits with a pointed end, around 50grams each. Firm fruits with thick flesh and little juice. Keeps well after harvest. Indeterminate. 80D. 10seeds/pack

Date Fruit Yellow is a semi-determinate variety growing to about 150cm in height and spreads width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. Produces oval, small fruits in large clusters. Golden-yellow fruits with thick skin and firm flesh. Pleasant sweet tomato flavor. Keeps very well after harvest, up to 6months. The fruits dry in and wrinkle during storage. De Pera Rosado is a semi-determinate variety growing to about 150cm in height and spreads width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. Produces round to oblate, larger fruits with a pleasant, traditional tomato flavor. Thick skin and firm flesh. Keeps very well after harvest, up to 4months. Crack-resistant. Del Tonet is a Spanish long-keeper variety, a ”Tomate de Colgar”, “Hanging Tomato”. Produces small, round fruits with a pointed end. Intense and tasty tomato flavor. Donatellina is a longkeeper variety. Produces round to oval, small cherry tomatoes around 10-15 grams each. Bright red fruits with a sweet and aromatic tomato flavor. Espalda Verde is an indeterminate variety growing to about 200cm in height and spreads width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. Produces oblate large fruits with a full, sweet, slightly spicy tomato flavor. Fruits in size of small beefsteaks, up to 200grams each. Bright-red fruits with a green neck, as the name states in Spanish - "Green Neck". Thick-skinned, very meaty fruits with firm flesh. Crack-resistant. Keeps very well after harvest, up to 4 months. Not exactly a Longkeeper variety in the true sense but Espalda Verde has the most excellent characteristics for storage after harvest. Especially for a large-fruited variety. This is one of the very few beefsteaks that can be stored for a longer period of time. Best stored laying on trays, since the fruits are quite heavy. Ferro, ‘Tomàtiga de Ramellet de Ferro’, is a longkeeper variety from Son Fortuny, Sant Joan, Mallorca, Spain. Produces small fruits around 30-40grams each. Almost round fruits with a slight ribbing. Giant Multiflora is a longkeeper variety producing huge multiflora clusters with 20-35 fruits per cluster. Each fruit weighs around 40-80grams. Very good yields. Ginestar, ‘tomàquet de penjar de Ginestar’, is a Spanish “hanging tomato” – longkeeper tomato from Catalonia, Spain. “Penjar” is “to hang” in Catalan. Named after the municipality of Ginestar. Originates in Rasquera and was reported by Robert Múrria. Produces round fruits around 40grams each. Medium good shelf life. Indeterminate. 80D. 5seeds/pack

Produces oval fruits with a pointy end in clusters. Bright-red fruits with thick skin and firm flesh. Pleasant sweet tomato flavor. Keeps very well after harvest. Can be stored hanging in clusters or on trays, up to 6 months. The fruits can dry in and wrinkle a bit during storage. The original seed was given to a Swedish woman named Gita, by an Italian man living in Finland. Most likely an old Italian variety. Very similar to 'Patanara'. 75-80D. 10seeds/pack
