Espalda Verde is an indeterminate variety growing to about 200cm in height and spreads width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. Produces oblate large fruits with a full, sweet, slightly spicy tomato flavor. Fruits in size of small beefsteaks, up to 200grams each. Bright-red fruits with a green neck, as the name states in Spanish - "Green Neck". Thick-skinned, very meaty fruits with firm flesh. Crack-resistant. Keeps very well after harvest, up to 4 months. Not exactly a Longkeeper variety in the true sense but Espalda Verde has the most excellent characteristics for storage after harvest. Especially for a large-fruited variety.
