Iditarod Red, 'Iditarod Red Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 90cm in height. Produces round, smooth mid-sized tomatoes, around 60-100grams each. Bright-red fruits with a well-balanced tomato flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage, regular leaf. Was developed between 2006 and 2011 from a selection from "the Grumpy Family", a cross between 'Budai Torpe' and 'Black from Tula', by Patrina Nuske Small in 2006. A selection grown by Richard Allen in Australia was then sent to Sue Bailey in Alaska. Bailey selected and named 'Iditarod Red' after a famous dog sled race between Anchorage and Nome, Alaska. Iva’s Red Berry is a heavy yielder of small, round cherry tomatoes in long trusses. Bright red fruits with red flesh. Very strong and sweet tomato flavor. Creation of Iva Grasa of Slovenia.
