Meraki’s Saboteur came to us as the Bill Yoder variety ‘Sabotage’ from his “Beastie Boys”-Series. And it is clearly not. ‘Sabotage’ is a mid-sized tomato in red-ish-pink with golden stripes. My Saboteur produced more or less heart-shaped, quite small fruits in pink-red and green striped with a beautiful, metallic shine, with some antho coloring on the neck. Multi-colored flesh in pink-red-green. Amazingly, pretty fruits! A fun fact behind ‘Sabotage’ is that it came to Bill Yoder as what was supposed to be a “large dark tomato”. Arkashin produces mid-sized to large beefsteak tomatoes of around 250-400grams each. Bright red fruits with slightly green necks. Round-ish fruits with rounded, slightly ribbed necks. Dense and fleshy fruits with a well-balanced tomato flavor. Arkashin is in the back, to the left. The other varieties in the picture are ‘George’s Greek’, ‘Big Italian Plum’, and ‘Jantar’. Bisonhertz produces large beefsteak tomatoes of around 400-1000grams each. The fruit in the first picture is 534 grams. Slightly ox-heart-shaped fruits in a red-pink color. Cuban Like Pepper produces quite large paste-type tomatoes of around 100-300grams each. The fruit in the picture is 125 grams. Beautiful fruits in a dark, brick-red-brown color. Gigante Farina produces large beefsteak tomatoes of around 350-600grams each. It can also get larger, over 1kg. The fruits in the picture are around 350-400 grams. Bright red, shiny fruits, flattened and ribbed. Dense and meaty fruits with little gel and few seeds. From the Bleggio Region in Italy. Gospozha Udacha, “Lady Luck”, produces mid-sized beefsteak tomatoes of around 200-300grams each. Pretty raspberry pink fruits with a slight heart shape. Fragrant flesh with sweet tomato flavor. Gospozha Udacha is top right in the picture; the other varieties are Liften Yellow and Bisonhertz. 80D. Determinate. Bush, around 80-100cm high. 5seeds/pack

Helen’s German produces mid-sized to large beefsteak tomatoes of around 250-500grams each. The fruits in the picture are around 300-330 grams. Dark-pink fruits, slightly flattened with bulky ribbed shoulders. Meaty flesh with an excellent, sweet tomato flavor. From Germany. It was grown for about 20 years in Iowa. Passed on to relatives by the Navarre family in Madison, Wisconsin. Helen Navarre gave seeds to Sue Gronholz in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. Gronholz introduced it in 1997 in the Seeds Savers Yearbook. Honey Giant produces large, flattened, and slightly ribbed beefsteak tomatoes of around 300-700grams each. The fruit in the picture is around 600 grams. Beautiful golden fruits with a red blush, both in the skin and the flesh. Meaty fruits with few seeds. Complex, sweet tomato flavor. 80-85D. Indeterminate. 5seeds/pack

Jantar, “Amber” in Polish, produces mid-sized to large beefsteak tomatoes of around 250-500grams each. Round-ish, slightly flattened fruits with plump and slightly ribbed shoulders. Dense and meaty flesh with sweet and tasty tomato flavor. The other varieties in the picture are ‘George’s Greek’, ‘Big Italian Plum’, and ‘Arkashin’. Commercial variety from Poland. Liften Yellow produces mid-sized to large beefsteak tomatoes of around 200-500grams each. Pretty bi-colored golden-pink fruits with golden-pink flesh. Very sweet and fruity tomato flavor. Elke’s Thai Chili produces elongated cylindrical, deep red chili peppers. The fruits are around 7-8cm long and quite thin, around 1cm in diameter at the thickest part. We dried the fruits and made chili powder. It turned out great! Hot, but not too hot, and still very flavorful. We got this variety from our friend Elke, who lives in Thailand.
