Dwarf - D. T. P.
Dwarf Tomato Project (D. T. P.) is a tomato breeding project that has been going on for more than 10 years, with growers participating all around the world. The goal is to create a number of low-maintenance tomato varieties with delicious flavor, variations of size, colors, and use. Today the project has introduced about 130 different awesome varieties!
Characteristics the varieties have in common are that the plant height varies from 60-140cm depending on the variety. They have rugose (crinkly) foliage and grow with very thick stems. They need no pruning of the suckers. They need no support height-wise but require staking or support on the width. The branches get heavy when the plant sets fruit and will fall over without staking. They all work well to grow in larger pots or such, wherever the space is limited. In general, the plant gets smaller and produces a bit less grown in a pot than grown in a field. According to fruits size, color, shape, or taste, you can find almost everything you are looking for in the D. T. P. There are varieties from the sweetest cherry to the juiciest beefsteak. Normal-sized varieties perfect for canning or fresh eating or paste-types great for cooking or sauces. What you can't find are longkeeper varieties. Color-vise there is anything from white-yellow-green to orange-red-brown-black to striped and multi-colored. What you can't find is antho-colored varieties though. We have to keep calm and wait!

Numbat, 'Dwarf Numbat Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 100cm in height. Produces small/mid-sized, round tomatoes around 80grams each. The fruits a mostly uniform in size. Beautiful yellow fruits with green stripes and clear green flesh. Tangy, fresh flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage, regular leaf. Derives from ”the Quirky Family", a cross by Ray South between 'Green Zebra' and a red-fruited selection from "the Cheeky Family". Was later selected and named by Ray South. Introduced in 2019. Orange Cream, 'Dwarf Orange Cream Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 100cm in height. Produces mid-sized, oblate beefsteak tomatoes around 200-340grams each. Pale-orange fruits with intense, rich flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage, potato leaf. Indeterminate dwarf tree-type. Derives from a cross between 'Golden Dwarf Champion' and 'Elbe' by Patrina Nuske Small in 2006 called "Tipsy". 'Dwarf Orange Cream' was later selected and named by Craig LeHoullier. Oriole Dwarf Tomato
Oriole, ‘Dwarf Oriole’, is a dwarf variety growing up to 120-150cm in height. Produces oblate, smooth tomatoes, around 150-400grams each. Some reach around 600 grams. Beautiful, pale orange fruits, some with a pink blush in the core. Well-balanced, intense tomato flavor and a juicy texture. Rugose, dark green, regular leaves. Derives from “The Fancy Family”. Selected by Susan Oliverson and named by Craig LeHoullier. Might still be slightly unstable. On occasion, an indeterminate regular leaf plant could occur. Parfait, 'Dwarf Parfait Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 100cm in height. Produces mid-sized, oblate beefsteak tomatoes around 170-340grams each. Smooth fruits with green-beige skin and green-orange flesh with a well-balanced and very pleasant flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage, potato leaf.
