An accidental cross between ‘Blue Ridge Mountain’ and another variety in 2000. Discovered by Millard Murdock, North Carolina, USA. Featured in the Seed Savers Yearbook in 2012. Carol Chyko's Big Paste produces large, oblate, slightly ribbed beefsteak tomatoes up to 800grams each. Dark-mahogany-red fruits with a full, rich tomato flavor. This is an indeterminate, vining variety of tomato growing to about 200cm in height and spreads some width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned and the choice of staking and support.
