Principe Borghese is an indeterminate variety growing to about 150cm in height and spreads some width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. More compact growth than other varieties. Produces oval, classical piennolo-fruits with a pointy end. Bright-red fruits with thick skin and firm flesh. Pleasant sweet tomato flavor. Keeps very well after harvest. Professor Klapprott´s Spitze is a long keeper variety. Produces oval to plum-shaped, slightly ribbed fruits with a pointy end. Bright-red fruits of around 20-30 grams each. Sweet, classic tomato flavor. Thick skin and crack-resistant. Firm flesh. Good shelf life. Not much is known of its origin. Also great for sun drying, sauces, cooking, etc. Probably the same variety as ‘Köning Humbert, from two different seed sources that named them differently. Mentioned already in 1884, in the ‘W.
