Astrakom Aubergine

Astrakom is an aubergine or eggplant producing elongated, cylindrical-chubby fruits, up to 10cm long. Pretty, dark-purple fruits with tender white, sweet flesh. Quite compact plants, around 50-60cm high. Does well also in cooler climates with shorter seasons. From a Soviet-era breeding program, named after the city of Astrakhan, near the Volga River in Russia. Was introduced by Belorussian seed saver Andrey Baranovsky. ISO. 60D.
