Montmelo, ‘tomàquet de penjar de Montmeló’, is a Spanish “hanging tomato” – longkeeper tomato from Catalonia, Spain. “Penjar” is “to hang” in Catalan. Originates in the municipality of Montornès del Vallès and was preserved by Maria Seguí. Produces elongated, orange fruits around 20-30grams each. Keeps very well after harvest, until spring.
