Mama Leone is a paste-type tomato, containing less water than “regular” tomatoes, perfect for cocking and sauces, etc. Produces elongated, chubby fruits with a pointed end, around 5-8cm long. Mallorquìn is an indeterminate variety growing to about 200cm in height and spreads some width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. Produces round fruits with a pointy end in large clusters. Bright-red fruits with thick skin and firm flesh. Pleasant sweet tomato flavor. Keeps very well after harvest, up to 9 months. Mallorquí, ‘tomàquet de penjar Mallorquí (Vilanova B)’, is a Spanish “hanging tomato” – longkeeper tomato from Catalonia, Spain. “Penjar” is “to hang” in Catalan. It is named after the village of Vilanova de Bellpuig, from where it originates. Reported by Pere Sauch. Produces flat-round fruits with ribbed shoulders, around 50grams each. Keeps well after harvest, at least 6 months. Indeterminate. 80D. 10seeds/pack

Mala Cara is an indeterminate variety growing to about 200cm in height and spreads some width-wise depending on how much of the suckers are pruned. Potato leaf. Produces round, mid-sized in clusters. Pale-yellow-pink fruits with a "frosty" shimmer. The name means "bad face" in Spanish, like a blushing face. Thick skin and firm flesh. Pleasant sweet tomato flavor. Keeps very well after harvest, up to 3-5 months. Origin: Torà, Catalonia, Spain. 80D. 10seeds/pack

Maerizol Meydzhyk, ‘Maerisol Magic’, produces round mid-sized tomatoes, around 40-60grams each. Beautiful apricot-colored, almost looking like an apricot. Mild, sweet, aromatic tomato flavor. Crack-resistant, slightly furry fruits. Indeterminate. 75-80D. 10seeds/pack

Maerizol Meydzhyk Beef turned up in our patch of the regular Maerizol Meydzhyk in 2023. The fruits have the same furry characteristics and the same beautiful peach color with a pink blush. But instead of the regular oval-round shape, these were all flattened and ribbed little beefsteak tomatoes of around 150 grams each. Mild, sweet, aromatic tomato flavor. Crack-resistant.
