Dwarf - D. T. P.
Dwarf Tomato Project (D. T. P.) is a tomato breeding project that has been going on for more than 10 years, with growers participating all around the world. The goal is to create a number of low-maintenance tomato varieties with delicious flavor, variations of size, colors, and use. Today the project has introduced about 130 different awesome varieties!
Characteristics the varieties have in common are that the plant height varies from 60-140cm depending on the variety. They have rugose (crinkly) foliage and grow with very thick stems. They need no pruning of the suckers. They need no support height-wise but require staking or support on the width. The branches get heavy when the plant sets fruit and will fall over without staking. They all work well to grow in larger pots or such, wherever the space is limited. In general, the plant gets smaller and produces a bit less grown in a pot than grown in a field. According to fruits size, color, shape, or taste, you can find almost everything you are looking for in the D. T. P. There are varieties from the sweetest cherry to the juiciest beefsteak. Normal-sized varieties perfect for canning or fresh eating or paste-types great for cooking or sauces. What you can't find are longkeeper varieties. Color-vise there is anything from white-yellow-green to orange-red-brown-black to striped and multi-colored. What you can't find is antho-colored varieties though. We have to keep calm and wait!

Tiger Eye Dwarf Tomato
Tiger Eye, 'Dwarf Tiger Eye Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 100cm in height. Heavy yielder of elongated paste-type tomatoes around 80-120grams each. Brown fruits with a darker neck and some green stripes. Pleasant, well-balanced tomato flavor. Paste-type tomatoes contain less water than "normal" tomatoes and are perfect for tomato sauce, puree, cooking, etc. The fruits are very firm and meaty and not so watery if cooked. Rugose, dark green foliage, regular leaf. Determinate dwarf. Derives from "the Leggy Family", a cross by Sherry Long between a selection from "the Lazy Family" and 'Orange Banana'. Uluru Ochre Dwarf Tomato
Uluru Ochre, 'Uluru Ochre Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 100cm in height. Produces oblate, ribbed small to mid-sized beefsteak tomatoes around 150-340grams each. Ochre-brown fruits with a darker neck. Delicious, slightly smokey tomato flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage, regular leaf. Indeterminate dwarf tree-type. Walters Fancy Dwarf Tomato
Walter's Fancy, ‘Dwarf Walter's Fancy Tomato’, is a dwarf variety growing up to 90cm in average in height. Produces oblate, slightly ribbed, smooth tomatoes, around 100-300grams each. Pale yellow fruits with a well-balanced, but intense tomato flavor. Rugose potato leaves. Wherokowhai NOT is a dwarf variety growing up to 100cm in height. Heavy yielder of flattened mid-sized tomatoes around 100-150grams each. Dark-red fruits with excellent, fresh, and fruity flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage. The original seeds of this variety came to us as 'Wherokowhai'. 'Wherokowhai', though, is a bicolor variety, and ours turned out crimson. Zoe’s Sweet, 'Dwarf Zoe’s Sweet Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 100-150cm in height. Produces slightly flattened, mid-sized to large beefsteak tomatoes around 150-400grams each. Smooth, dark pink fruits with a pleasant, juicy and sweet flavor. Very meaty fruits after one of the "parents", 'Pale Leaf Mullens Mortgage Lifter'. Rugose foliage, potato leaf. Zoe’s Sweet has lime-green, chartreuse foliage, and due to the chartreuse-gene, the variety has higher growth than other dwarfs.
