Calabaza del Mellah is a gourd from The Neighborhood of Mellah in Marrakesh, Morocco. It grows with very long, climbing vines, 300cm or more. The leaves are covered with fine hair. Drought hardy and heat tolerant. Produce very large fruits/gourds, around 100cm long and about 15cm wide in diameter. Young, green, immature fruits can be harvested and used as squash.
