Lettuce Canasta

Canasta is an excellent crisp lettuce with frilled, ruffled leaves in light-lime-green with dark red edges and dark-bronze marbling. Crispy and sweet flavor. Does well also in hot weather. Rarely becomes bitter even at temperatures above 30°C. Heads grow to about 15cm high and 25cm wide. Uniform plants.  Lactuca sativa. 50D. Around 200seeds/pack

How to Grow

Can be sown directly in the garden when the soil is ready or be pre-cultivated before planting in the garden. Sow the seeds shallow, about 0,5cm deep. Best temperature for germination is below 18°C. If the temperature is higher the germination rate will be lower and the seedlings will be weak. Can be sown successively for access throughout the season. Do not let the seedlings dry out. When the plants are established they tolerate cold weather.
