Kelly Green Dwarf Tomato

Kelly Green, 'Dwarf Kelly Green Tomato' is a dwarf variety growing up to 120-150cm in height, slightly higher than the regular dwarf. Produces almost completely round, mid-sized tomatoes, around 50-150grams each. Clear-green-yellow fruits with clear-green flesh. Very pleasant, well-balanced flavor. Rugose, dark green foliage, regular leaf. Indeterminate dwarf. Derives from "the Sneezy Family" (a cross between ‘Golden Dwarf Champion' and 'Green Giant' by Patrina Nuske Small in 2005). 'Dwarf Green Kelly' comes from a selection of 'Barossa Fest 2', found and named by Craig LeHoullier in 2007. Named in honor of his wife's uncle, Edward Kelly, that recently had passed away. Dwarf Tomato Project (D. T. P.) is a tomato breeding project that has been going on for more than 10 years, with growers participating all around the world. The goal is to create a number of low-maintenance tomato varieties with delicious flavor, variations of size, colors, and use. Today the project has introduced about 130 different awesome varieties!

Characteristics the varieties have in common are that the plant height varies from 60-140cm depending on the variety. They have rugose (crinkly) foliage and grow with very thick stems. They need no pruning of the suckers. They need no support height-wise but require staking or support on the width. The branches get heavy when the plant sets fruit and will fall over without staking. They all work well to grow in larger pots or such, wherever the space is limited. In general, the plant gets smaller and produces a bit less grown in a pot than grown in a field. 

According to fruits size, color, shape, or taste, you can find almost everything you are looking for in the D. T. P. There are varieties from the sweetest cherry to the juiciest beefsteak. Normal-sized varieties perfect for canning or fresh eating or paste-types great for cooking or sauces. What you can't find are longkeeper varieties. Color-vise there is anything from white-yellow-green to orange-red-brown-black to striped and multi-colored. What you can't find is antho-colored varieties though. We have to keep calm and wait for this!
