Genesis Lima Bean is a pole bean growing to about 200-300cm in height. Produces broad, green pods with beautiful black and white mottled beans inside. Best harvested as fully dry and mature as a cooking bean. Can be used for soups, hummus, pots, and stews. Can be stored as a dry bean for later use. Has a very creamy texture. Phaseolus lunatus. From most species of beans, you find both pole-varieties and bush-varieties. Also semi-trailing, medium-high varieties exist. Pole beans are climbing and need support, poles, nets, or other support. Bush beans normally grow to about 40cm high and 40cm wide, but also smaller and larger varieties exist. Bush beans normally don't dees support.
How to Grow
Beans do not tolerate cold soils. If sown into cold soil, the seeds will rot. The temperature of the soli must be a minimum of 12°C, preferably 16°C. Sow the seeds about 3-5cm deep. Can also be sown in pots for later planting in the garden. Pole beans can be planted at a distance of 10-15cm. Bush beans are planted at a distance of about 40cm between the plants.
