Aztec Tobacco is the oldest tobacco ever grown in Europe. It was brought to Europe from Middle America around year 1500. Also called Brazilian Tobacco or Strong Tobacco. Nicotiana rustica contain up to 9% nicotine whereas Nicotiana tabacum contain 1-3% nicotine. The high concentration makes Aztec Tobacco useful for producing pesticides. Can also be used for chewing tobacco, smoking tobacco etc. The plant grow to about 90-120cm in height. Produces large oval-elongated, green leaves. Flowers with clusters of yellow flowers. Sow indoors before planting in the garden. The seeds are tiny and requires light to germinate. Sow the seeds on the surface of the soil. Do not let the seedlings dry out.
